In Like A Lion...

So I'm using my last few minutes of the F-R-I-D-A-Y work day to post a line or two about what I've been talking about for the last two weeks on air.  I've referenced a dude for you guys to check out on YouTube..or download on iTunes...or whatever you want to do...

..but his name is Dustin Kensrue..and he's ahhhhmazing.  He's the lead vocalist of the band Thrice, and his solo project is completely outta control..completely different than the music he plays with Thrice.  He does a lot of acoustic stuff (which I'm a sucker for...one of the reasons I love him) and he did a cover of crazy lady Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U" that totally rocked.  Check out "Pistol" (it's one of the most romantic songs I think I've ever heard...and so not in a sappy romantic way--in a we are real people and have real lives kinda way...that's just the way I see it.. - - for a little preview..here's one my favorite parts from the song...it's the very two first verses:

"Love how you curse when I wake you up
Sweetly demand that I fill your cup
With the smile of your cool gun powder glare
Honey, you lay me bare

You're the girl of my dreams
And a pistol it seems, but you shoot me straight and true

Ooookay..for real, that's my heart, officially melted. ).  Also, check out "Please Come Home" - I really can't say anything about it that I haven't said about any of the other songs...you have to hear it for yourself.  Nothing at all short of fantastic. 

That's my random music schpeel for the day.  Hope you all have a great St. Patty's weekend...have a green beer, or three, for me seeing as I'll be working at the Northeast Nebraska Home and Garden Show at the NECC Ag Complex Saturday and Sunday.  Maybe I'll see some of you there!   =)
