College Takes Two More Steps Toward Opening Nursing College

WEST POINT - The Northeast Community College Board of Governors has taken two more steps toward the opening of the proposed Northern College of Nursing. Vice President of Institutional Advancement Mary Honke tells WJAG NEWS that, at it's regular meeting Thursday, the board approved an addendum to the college master facility plan to include the College of Nursing. Honke says the board also unanimously approved the program statement that will be submitted to the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education at its October 14th meeting. The proposed nursing college is a joint effort of Northeast Community College and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. It will offer nursing education for all levels from CNA through doctorate of nursing.
