Big Red Keno Donates $100,000 To Norfolk

NORFOLK - The City of Norfolk is starting to reap the rewards of a new Keno operation in the community -- even before the first game has been played. Standing at the 40-yard line of Memorial Field this morning, Big Red Keno officials presented a $100,000 dollar check to Mayor Gordon Adams to help pay for a number upgrades at the city owned facility. Big Red Chief Operating Officer Todd Ryan tells WJAG NEWS they plan to begin playing Keno in Norfolk on Monday, August 25th. Keno in Norfolk will originate from Michael's' Cantina -- which will serve as temporary home location until Big Red constructs its sports bar restaurant near Wal-Mart and Hy-Vee in the next year. It will also be played at approximately a dozen satellite locations across the city. The city is expected to see 400-thousand dollars a year in annual revenues from Keno with proceeds going towards parks and recreation.
